In Episode 57 of the Warrior Wellness Podcast, Steph Lincoln, former Army Captain and Podcast host sits down with Nasirullah “John” Safi, author of the book “Get the Terp up here! War as an Interpreter to U.S. Forces in Afghanistan”. John was born and raised in the war-torn country of Afghanistan under the Taliban regime. John served as a US military combat interpreter, during the war on terror in Afghanistan where he was shot, seriously injured, and almost killed on multiple occasions. John lost his family members who were brutally killed because of his support of the U.S Military. John was part of one of the bloodiest battles of Kamdish, which is depicted in the movie "The Outpost." His book "Get the Terp Up here! War as an interpreter to US forces in Afghanistan” is his eyewitness account and firsthand experience of the Afghan War. John currently works as an advisor/associate editor for “A voice for two nations”, a platform for stories that share a common soul, explore the fringes of combat and the devastation of war, and illustrate the deep bond between the people of the US and Afghanistan.
