31WOMEN: Michelle Steiner - Teacher's Aid & Disability Writer - interviewed by Adrian Beckingham.
Manage episode 447265178 series 3611276
First broadcast as part of our 31Women project which broadcast a new interview with a different woman every day in March 2023 as our month long celebration of International Women's Day. Lack of resources meant this project could not repeat for 2024, fingers crossed for enough sponsorships/subscribers in 2025.
Michelle lives in the USA. She was diagnosed with a learning disability from the very start of school. Throughout her schooling her lack of physical coordination and difficulties with academic learning meant she was singled out as a target by bullies. To this day Michelle cannot add up how much money something costs or read an analogue clock, but she has qualified with a bachelor's degree from university and learnt to use her perceived weaknesses as personal strengths. Listen in to Michelle's journey, and learn some TopTips on travelling with a disability, plus attitudes towards disabilities that will help forge a better world for everyone.
