The Five Virtues & The Five Organs:
This will be a 5 part series discussing the relationship between the five virtues and the five organs largely taken from the De Dao Jing.
The De Dao Jing was the original version of the famous book Dao De Jing written over 2,500 years ago. This text is rarely known to the Western world as it was only discovered by archaeologists in China in 1973 and has yet to be translated into English.
The text in part deeply describes five virtues, (which once you connect with) can realign yourself with the principles of nature, and allow yourself to live a much more harmonious existence with yourself and others.
The first part of this episode will be an introduction to what virtues or ‘De’ really are, and will focus on the relationship between the Heart and the virtue of Altruism.
Talking points include:
- De can be perceived as a waterfall which fills up and nourishes your body just as qi does.
- That we are innately born with De, but how quickly it can be removed from us when living in society.
- The heart has no language and is a totality or oneness just like the De and the Dao, and judgement does not come from the heart at all.
- The heart is the ‘most important’ organ or chakra in the body as it is the governor which makes everything function and flow in proper order.
Hope you enjoy listening to the first part of this episode.
With gratitude and best wishes,
CCMS.
