Interview with Isabel Reddy, author of "That You Remember"
Manage episode 447185609 series 3571055
Isabel Reddy began her career in clinical research as a science writer. She has been a guest columnist for numerous newspapers, and holds an MFA in Writing from Goddard College. She lives in North Carolina with her husband and her German shepherd, Mac.
Reddy is the daughter of a past president of the coal company, Pittston Coal, responsible for the Buffalo Creek disaster. She was inspired to write That You Remember after unexpectedly receiving all her late father’s desk diaries. She found her muse and the title to her novel after seeing a YouTube video of a survivor reading their poem, a poem that repeated the words, “I’ve forgotten… I’ve forgotten… I swear damn it, I can’t forget.”
That You Remember is her first novel.
