GLEN VAN PESKI│Take Less. Do More.
Manage episode 412581820 series 1342400
For this episode of The All-Around Adventure Podcast, I'm joined by ultralight hiker, entrepreneur, and author, Glen Van Peski.
As a native Californian, Glen spent a lot of time in the state's outdoors while he was growing up. At age 17, he set out on an amazing journey and he rode a bike across the entire United States. He would later transition into hiking when he led his oldest son's Scout troop’s backpacking program. During that time, he started sewing his own gear in order to make himself, as well as the Scouts, carry lighter weight while on backpacking trips. And in 1998, he founded Gossamer Gear, a company dedicated to manufacturing ultralight backpacking equipment. Since then Glen has made numerous contributions to the backpacking community, and he would eventually be known by the trail name, "Legend".
In this episode, Glen tells some of his stories from cycling across the US and from ultralight backpacking. He also talks about his journey with building Gossamer Gear, and shares his insights for aspiring entrepreneurs. Furthermore, we discuss some of the life lessons that he's learned along the way and how they're woven into his book, Take Less. Do More.
