Pastor Melanie Forrey Bio - September 2024
Pastor Melanie Forrey serves her calling in ministry at Zoar Lutheran Church in Perrysburg, Ohio. Melanie grew up in rural Nevada and Idaho before living in Montana for 8 years. During that period, she worked as a church secretary, attended Luther Seminary, was active in the community and church, and stayed busy with the changing seasons of motherhood. To continue her candidacy process towards ordained ministry, Melanie moved to Ohio from Montana in May 2022. She served the community by participating in a chaplain residency at Mercy Health St. Vincent Hospital. Melanie and her husband Daniel, a journeyman lineman, have four children: Kailey – a college student at Montana State, Raegan and Rowan – students at Toledo School for the Arts, and Evelyn a student at Hull Prairie Intermediate. Melanie and her family enjoy life in Perrysburg for many reasons, especially the perk of being closer to Melanie's siblings. Melanie loves spending time with her family, cuddling with Penny (her beloved basset hound), reading, meeting new people, visiting with friends, traveling, and taking walks in the incredible area parks. She is excited for her first call at Zoar Lutheran Church and is grateful to those who have helped her feel at home here in Northwest Ohio. Melanie is passionate about spreading God’s love to everyone, serving the underserved, and helping to advocate for inclusion and compassion.
