Dr. Don Stader is board certified in Emergency Medicine and Addiction Medicine and the editor in chief for all of the Colorado's CURE Guidelines, Dr. Marcela Smid is board certified in Female Maternal Medicine and Addiction Medicine and an adjunct assistant professor of the psychology and psychiatry departments and assistant professor of obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Utah and Dr. Jill Liss is an OB/GYN at the University of Colorado Hospital and a member of the faculty of CU.
Colorado's CURE focuses on four pillars:
- Limiting the use of opioids in clinical practice
- Using multimodal alternatives to opioids (ALTO) to better treat pain without the risks that come with opioids
- Harm Reduction
- Improving care for those who have developed an opioid use disorder
