Eric is a Physiotherapist at Altum Health in Cambridge, Ontario who works primarily with patients suffering from persistent pain as well as concussions. Eric has a B.Sc. in Honours Kinesiology from University of Waterloo where he was mentored by Stu McGill and then completed his Masters of Physical Therapy at Western University in London, Ontario.
In this episode, Eric talks about common misunderstandings about Stu McGill's work, why he doesn't do mobility or stretching while warming up, ways to simplify coaching cues for clients, the meaning behind "treat the person, not the RCT", why he doesn't waste time getting in arguments on social media, and when the "nocebo effect" may actually be useful in some rare situations.
