Actually Jim acknowledges that despite his decades of experience Autism is a dynamic enquiry. An enquiry into what it means to be human. One that has moved from cures to accepting neurodivergent identities.

but I spend my life coming up with the stunningly obvious.

You know, he won't go to school.

Does it mean he won't leave the house?

Is it a question of he can't? Not that you won't.

Is it the travel? Is it the particular teacher? What is it? No one's asked these questions "
