7. Quieting the Mind, Monitoring your Self-talk, and Gaslighting Yourself
Manage episode 315244032 series 3281729
Hey everyone and welcome back to the podcast! I know I've been away for a bit, but it's for a good reason. While I've been away I've actually passed 200 plays! In this episode I talk about quieting the mind, monitoring your self-talk and gaslighting yourself. It's easy for us to get in our heads and be our own worst critic.
One of the books that has helped a lot in this area is "the Untethered Soul" by Michael A. Singer. I touch a bit on one of the topics of this book and get a bit into Bachelor in Paradise while I'm at it. These things aren't necessarily related to each other, but you already know I can get a bit into reality TV and I love analyzing different moments. We've all been in a place where maybe we are more critical of ourselves than we need to be. For this reason it's important to employ techniques and coping skills that help us become our own cheerleader rather than our own worst critic. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
