She was the first Latina president of the American Public Health Association (APHA). Throughout her life, Dr. Rodríguez Trías forged a powerful legacy by expanding public health services for disadvantaged women and children across the globe.
2nd Lieutenant Emily Jazmin Tatum Perez was more than just a name; she was a symbol of courage, dedication, and unwavering commitment to her country. Emily made history as the first black female officer in U.S. military history to die in combat. She was the first graduate of the "Class of 9/11" to fall in combat and the first female West Point graduate to meet the same fate.
