Another great outing by Max Fried, and another lead squandered. Fried went seven innings Wednesday night while surrendering only two runs versus the Philadelphia Phillies, but it was not enough. The Phillies were able to turn a couple of base hits in to a few runs and won the game 3-2, something that the Braves have struggled mightily with this season. Granted, the Braves have been taken off of the game that this lineup is built for, POWER, by several key injuries. This does not mean that the Braves should be folding though, and are refusing to throw in the white towel, but the small cushion that they have over the New York Mets over the last wild card playoff spot is shrinking, and could be lost if the Braves cannot figure out how to create runs the old fashioned way. Andy Bunker and Randy McMichael discuss the Braves and how they need to finish the season strong if they want to continue playing in October.
