However important your political struggle is around inequality, racial discrimination, cultural discrimination or religious fundamentalism, what is important is that you engage with the sense of human empathy. Never forget, that you are engaging in a struggle for a better humanity!"
What I find absolutely fascinating, is political activists who say they are fighting and struggling for a better humanity, but they are terrible human beings! They treat other human beings really badly. Now, how can you struggle for a better humanity when you're a horrible human being and behave in the most horrible of ways to other human beings.
The fact is, you cant say, 'I want to fight for a better humanity!', and then conduct that struggle in the most disgusting and destructive of ways!"
Just one of the passionate and hard hitting truths shared by Professor Adam Habib is this powerful and frank conversation about education, inequality and activism.
Insights into the Fees must fall riots, the role and cost of education, and the quality of education.
A very interesting journey of purpose, from humble beginnings during South African Apartheid struggles, to a vice chancellor role and Adam's new appointment to the School of Oriental and African Studies at the University of London.
