But before then, new information dropped this week in the form of the On300 update for 2026. We'll discuss the topic in-depth on today's BWI Live Recruiting Show and break down the impact on the Penn State recruiting efforts for this coming cycle. Reporters Ryan Snyder and Sean Fitz discuss where Penn State's committed players moved in the rankings, plus where top targets sit after the February update. Join the show live at 10 a.m. on YouTube to discuss all of that and more! BWI Live comes to you on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday each week at 10. Subscribe to the Blue White Illustrated YouTube Channel right now and enable notifications so you don't miss any shows, breaking news, or commitments when they happen. A programming note for show fans: BWI Live will be off the week of the 10th through the 14th of March for a Spring Break. The good and the bad of the latest update for Penn State recruiting The good news for Penn State is that Pennsylvania and the program's larger regional football are loaded with elite talent in this upcoming cycle. The bad news is that the secret is out on many of the team's top targets. Will the extra attention on Luke Wafle, Carter Meadows, and other regional prospects make it more difficult for Penn State to land those players? Fitz and Snyder will discuss that idea, plus give their thoughts on the rankings. Snyder also spoke with On3, Director of Scouting Charles Power, about the players in Penn State's orbit. Quarterback commit Troy Huhn took a massive tumble down the rankings, and Snyder discussed why that happened for the California passer. NFL Combine Preview However, we'll start the show with the latest Penn State football news of the week. The defensive line and linebackers take to the field for the 2025 NFL Combine today in Indianapolis. Kobe King will be the lone representative for the Nittany Lions today after the announcement that Abdul Carter won't be working out this week. The news last night was that medical tests revealed an additional injury that Carter suffered. We'll give you that info and preview the Combine to start the show. Official Visit updates Pt 3. The Penn State calendar is already chalked full of official visits for the end of May into June, and new visits are popping up daily. Snyder has been tracking the additions to the summer calendar and discusses the most interesting and meaningful ones on today's program. #PennState #NittanyLions JOIN Blue White Illustrated: https://www.on3.com/teams/penn-state-nittany-lions/join/?plan=annual SUBSCRIBE to Blue White Illustrated on YouTube and enable alerts - new highlights and videos uploaded regularly: https://www.youtube.com/c/bluewhiteillustratedvideo?sub_confirmation Bookmark our homepage: https://www.on3.com/teams/penn-state-nittany-lions/ Subscribe to BWI Magazine and Newsletters: https://bluewhiteonline.com Like us on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/BlueWhiteIllustrated/ Follow us on Twitter https://twitter.com/PennStateOn3…

Penn State brings back McSorley as analyst Penn State athletic director Pat Kraft tipped the news during THON, which became official on Tuesday night. We'll discuss some tangible aspects of McSorley's game that he can impart to Allar. McSorley wasn't the only news this week. The team officially announced Dan Connor as the linebackers coach. We'll dive into what that means for Linebacker U and for new defensive coordinator Jim Knowles. Spring Transfer Portal Claims its first victim The Penn State football team has done an excellent job retaining players and making sure to keep most of its own depth throughout the transfer portal era. Still the team isn't impervious to the portal, which lured resever defensive lineman Smith Vilbert away from the team this week. We'll discuss the impact of his loss, the way the team can replace him and what the plan was for Vilbert this upcoming season. He updated fans on the Beaver Stadium Project, the state of the football program's NIL, and the plans for the athletic department's future. We'll discuss those topics plus more on today's BWI Live Show. Join us at 10 a.m. on YouTube! Also, football is exactly one month away from spring practice so now is a great time to subscribe to Blue White Illustrated to get insider info on your favorite team. Penn State ready to spend with the top teams? Kraft covered a diverse number of topics on Monday, many of which we'll discuss in our weekly segment, Between the Lines. Today, we'll cover his pivot to focusing on the "marketing" aspect of the new era of college football and player payment. Kraft started out strong, discussing the way things are changing this year with revenue sharing entering college sports. Senior Editor Nate Bauer gives fans context about Kraft's comments and what they should take away from his answers to questions about NIL this past week. Kraft also mentioned the team's plan for player retention over aggressive portal acquisitions. At the same time, he made it clear that the team won't be bystanders for filling key roles that the team needs to fill. Did he hint that the program will be aggressive this spring to try and win a championship in 2025? We'll also review his comments about Beaver Stadium, spring football and what's next for the college football calendar. Fitz's recruiting udpate The Penn State Class of 2026 got a fresh update on Monday as well. On3 updated the rankings for the upcoming cycle and several targets made serious climbs up the rankings. Meanwhile, other players slid back down the rankings. Recruiting expert Sean Fitz will discuss the situation in his latest Fitz's recruiting update. Stan Drayton introduction and the BWI Mailbag Finally, we'll discuss what we learned from new Penn State running backs coach Stan Drayton during his introductory press conference. He spoke for roughly 15 minutes following Kraft on Monday, and we'll give our first impressions. Finally, we turn the show over to you on the BWI Mailbag. Today, we're discussing the Class of 2026 in-depth and where the team stands heading into the spring recruiting calendar next month. Recruiting expert Sean Fitz joins the show to discuss the latest recruiting news. We'll also check in on the progress of the 2026 group compared to past seasons. It's been quiet recently, with very little movement within the class. Join the show today at 10 a.m. on YouTube to discuss recruiting with the leading experts covering the team. Never miss the show by subscribing to the Blue White Illustrated YouTube Channel and enabling notifications. The future of Penn State's run-ons unclear Part of recruiting is assessing the talent that may benefit the team off the field in practice. Penn State has a strong run-on culture within the program that is under threat with the new rules proposed by the NCAA. Those rules stem from the House Settlement and the ramifications of revenue sharing coming to college sports. Fitz spoke with second-year players who aren't on scholarship earlier this month to get an idea of where their mindset is heading into an uncertain time in sports. We'll discuss his article at Blue White Illustrated. If you want to read the full piece, check it out here. If you're not a member, sign up right now with our best deal of the year! Plenty of fans hope that this group can achieve a top five or ten finish in recruiting rankings and push the team over the top in recruiting. While we've discussed that topic several times on the show, today we're discussing how this group fits into the bigger picture. What are the strengths of this cycle? Where does Penn State need to add players this cycle to fill in gaps or enhance strengths in the current roster? While the nature of college football has changed from a long-term view, there are still aspects of team building that play into recruiting. Next, we'll look at the committed class as it stands in the cycle. Penn State has nine commits who have verbally joined the program. We'll discuss where that stands in comparison to the rest of the country, previous recruiting classes at this time, and what factors may have led to nine players on board at this point. Finally, we'll recap the latest official visit announcements and introduce you to some new names that will check out Penn State this summer. #PennState #NittanyLions JOIN Blue White Illustrated: https://www.on3.com/teams/penn-state-nittany-lions/join/?plan=annual SUBSCRIBE to Blue White Illustrated on YouTube and enable alerts - new highlights and videos uploaded regularly: https://www.youtube.com/c/bluewhiteillustratedvideo?sub_confirmation Bookmark our homepage: https://www.on3.com/teams/penn-state-nittany-lions/ Subscribe to BWI Magazine and Newsletters: https://bluewhiteonline.com Like us on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/BlueWhiteIllustrated/ Follow us on Twitter https://twitter.com/PennStateOn3 Penn State Class of 2026 Recruiting Reset | Official Visit Schedule Filling Up…

The No. 1 Penn State wrestling team is ready to close out the dual meet portion of its schedule on Friday when it hosts EIWA program American on Friday night at Rec Hall. The Nittany Lions are fresh off clinching a Big Ten regular season title and are gearing up for the postseason. We cover that and much more in this week's BWI wrestling show and pocast. Host Thomas Frank Carr and reporter Greg Pickel start this episode with a review of the team's two most recent wins. Last Friday night, Penn State beat Ohio State 27-13 in Columbus to secure its 69th consecutive dual meet victory. Then, it topped Illinois 29-9 on Sunday to set a Big Ten record with 70 straight wins in addition to winning the conference's dual meet crown. Carr and Pickel discuss the top takeaways, including Beau Bartlett beating Jesse Mendez to earn the No. 1 spot at 141 pounds, freshman Luke Lilledahl bouncing back from being pinned Friday night to record a technical fall triumph on Sunday, and the latest injury information. From there, the show turns its attention to what lies ahead for the Nittany Lions. Sanderson said that the program is dealing with some illness issues, which could impact Friday night's lineup. This year's senior class includes the likes of Bartlett, four-time NCAA champ Carter Starocci, and defending heavyweight champ Greg Kerkvliet, among others.…

Penn State news: Seider officially announced at Notre Dame Today, we'll start with the news that former Penn State running backs coach JaJuan Seider has officially been announced as the new running backs coach at Notre Dame. We'll discuss the details of Seiders' new situation and recap the transition to new running backs coach Stan Drayton. Next, we'll briefly discuss the latest recruiting news from the Nittany Lions. Teams are lining up official visits for the upcoming summer recruiting surge, during which most of Penn State's class will be decided. Check out the site for more information about who plans to show up in Happy Valley during May and June. Roster Update released last week Penn State provided the first roster udpate for 2025 after the week's BWI Live Show went off the air. Today, we'll review the changes and updates from the previous list of players on campus. We'll mainly focus on the team's freshman class and which players showed up with the measurables to contribute next fall if things go well for each player. Rebuilding the Penn State offense Kotelnicki dramatically improved the team's explosive play percentage on offense last year and helped the program reach its first Big Ten Championship game since 2016 and a college football playoff run. As always, teams must evolve and change year to year based on the talent turnover from the previous season. While much of the core remains the same from 2024, there are places that Penn State can adapt and change the plan for the upcoming season. We're discussing the schemes and ideas the team can implement to help generate even more explosive plays in the passing game. #PennState #NittanyLions JOIN Blue White Illustrated: https://www.on3.com/teams/penn-state-nittany-lions/join/?plan=annual SUBSCRIBE to Blue White Illustrated on YouTube and enable alerts - new highlights and videos uploaded regularly: https://www.youtube.com/c/bluewhiteillustratedvideo?sub_confirmation Bookmark our homepage: https://www.on3.com/teams/penn-state-nittany-lions/ Subscribe to BWI Magazine and Newsletters: https://bluewhiteonline.com Like us on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/BlueWhiteIllustrated/ Follow us on Twitter https://twitter.com/PennStateOn3 Redesigning the Penn State Offense for 2025 | WHO Are You Building Around?…

What is not clear as of Wednesday, however, is whether or not the Nittany Lions will have all 10 of their starters available for matches at Ohio State on Friday and Illinois on Sunday. The Blue-White Illustrated wrestling show is back to discuss last weekend's two wins, the latest on the Lions' injury situation, and what's on the horizon for head coach Cael Sanderson's team. Reporter Greg Pickel and host Thomas Frank Carr start this week's episode with a look back at last weekend. Penn State shutout Michigan 39-0 on Friday. Then, it beat Maryland 35-10 on Sunday. What did we learn from the two victories? The duo discusses that as the Lions took their 67th and 68th consecutive dual meets. From there, the conversation moves on to the injury front. Braeden Davis, the starter at 133 pounds, missed another two matches and has now sat out the team's last three due to injury. Tyler Kasak, meanwhile, had to injury default out of Sunday's bout with Terrapin Ethen Miller. It's not yet clear if either will be available this weekend. The show closes with a look ahead to a Friday night match with No. 5 Ohio State before traveling to No. 19 Illinois. The top bout in Columbus will feature No. 1 Jesse Mendez vs. No. 3 Beau Bartlett at 141 pounds. Mendez beat the Penn State senior in both last year's national final and also at this season's NWCA All-Star Classic. What can fans expect from Penn State this weekend? They officially introduced the 2024 freshman class for the first time during a two-hour interview session with the young players. Reporter Greg Pickel was at the event and joins the show today to discuss what he heard and learned from yesterday. We'll also be discussing the latest in the Penn State running backs coach search and more. Join the BWI Live Show at 10 a.m. on YouTube, catch the replay on the channel, here on the site, or anywhere you get your podcasts. The latest on the Penn State running backs coach search Yesterday, Franklin discussed the timeline and criteria for the team's running backs coach search during his roughly 40-minute talking to the media. While we'll get into those details later in the show, we'll start with the latest names that are part of the search. Pickel will discuss what he knows about who is in the candidate pool. He'll also discuss what the freshmen running backs had to say about the situation during their interviews with the media yesterday afternoon. Between the Lines Next, we'll discuss the coaching search from Franklin's perspective. He discussed what he's looking for in his next leader of the running back room. He once again stressed that the team doesn't have time to wait and needs a coach who can immediately make an impact. However, he brought up some other topics within that answer that may or may not have to do with the current coaching search. We'll discuss those thoughts, plus potential changes to spring football during Between the Lines. The Lions had just poached their own coach from CFP Champion Ohio State two weeks earlier so the dynamic of late-offseason coaching changes isn't new to the program at this point. Now, the team will need to replace one of the longest-tenured assistants under head coach James Franklin. We'll discuss that, Penn State superstar Saquon Barkley winning a Super Bowl, and more on today's BWI Live Show. Join us at 10 a.m. on YouTube or catch the replay on the channel, site, or wherever you get your podcasts. Don't forget to subscribe to the Blue White Illustrated YouTube Channel so you don't miss any off-season press conferences or breaking news! Saquon Barkley wins his first Super Bowl We'll start off with Barkley's win in Super Bowl LIX. The former Penn State running back carried the ball 25 times for just 57 yards, but his team dominated the Kansas City Chiefs on the way to a 40-22 blowout victory that featured 16 Chiefs points in the fourth quarter once the game was put away. We'll discuss Barkley's historic season, plus talk about the game. Join us to get in on the conversation! Penn State needs to replace a top assistant Of course, the main focus of today's show is on the team's loss of Seider to recruiting rival Notre Dame. Seider has been one of the team's top assistants over the last seven years and has brought a steady flow of high-quality running back prospects to the program in recent years. What's the sting factor in losing him? What can the team do to replace him quickly, and does this represent an opportunity to change and refresh the room? We'll also discuss the recruiting aspect of that conversation in Fitz's recruiting update. From there, we'll discuss Sean Fitz's recruiting big board, which you can check out at Blue White Illustrated by signing up for a membership to the site. We'll also review the summer official visit schedule, which is filling up in early February. Penn State freshmen meet the media Tomorrow marks the start of the 2025 season for Penn State football with the February media day. Franklin will speak to the media for the first time since his team's loss to Notre Dame in the Orange Bowl to discuss a variety of topics, including hiring defensive coordinator Jim Knowles, the loss of Seider, and more. We'll also get our first chance to meet the Class of 2024 freshmen, which completed its first year on campus. We'll discuss what we expect from tomorrow and who we intend to talk with during the day of interviews. Want to discuss something else? Penn State Recruiting January Recap With a deep playoff run taking up the first half of the month, Penn State missed out on some of the recruiting calendar to start the new year. While any team would trade the opportunity at a national championship for a weekend or two hosting prospects, it limits the time and players the team could meet. So, with all that considered, how did Penn State do in January? Recruiting experts Sean Fitz and Ryan Snyder discuss the team's progress in the past month and recap the major events that happened over the previous few weeks. NIL Conversation from Pete Nakos On3 national reporter Pete Nakos surveyed anonymous NIL executives and staffers from several of the major conferences to get a lay of the land for how much teams spent this past season on recruits and in the portal. He also got an idea of what the going rate for certain positions is and where those numbers are heading. Of course, we'll relate these topics and conversations to Penn State football and where it stands in the new NIL environment. Can the team keep up with the rising rates of players? Given the situation last year, how much more impressive is the team's run to a final four? We'll discuss those ideas and put the situation into context for fans. Top targets cutting list of schools, 2025 review Finally, we'll discuss the upcoming announcements from top targets this month. Players like Alex Haskell and Davion Brown are narrowing their list of potential schools. Did Penn State make the cut? We'll discuss the future of the team while taking one last look back at the Class of 2025, with the traditional national signing day happening yesterday. #PennState #NittanyLions JOIN Blue White Illustrated: https://www.on3.com/teams/penn-state-nittany-lions/join/?plan=annual SUBSCRIBE to Blue White Illustrated on YouTube and enable alerts - new highlights and videos uploaded regularly: https://www.youtube.com/c/bluewhiteillustratedvideo?sub_confirmation Bookmark our homepage: https://www.on3.com/teams/penn-state-nittany-lions/ Subscribe to BWI Magazine and Newsletters: https://bluewhiteonline.com Like us on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/BlueWhiteIllustrated/ Follow us on Twitter https://twitter.com/PennStateOn3…

Penn State wrestling is off and running with the February portion of its schedule. The Nittany Lions have their first double dual weekend of the season on the horizon. Michigan battles head coach Cael Sanderson's team at the Bryce Jordan Center on Friday (6 p.m. ET, Big Ten Network) before Maryland invades Rec Hall at 1 p.m. ET on B1G+. “It’s unusual, as we talked about throughout the year, just the scheduling where we got Friday, Friday, Friday, and now we have a Friday, Sunday,” Sanderson said Monday. “But I think these weekends are really good training for the national tournament conference where you have a multiple-day tournament. So, we look at it all as training. And obviously, Michigan’s one of the top programs in the country. So we’re looking forward to that match, another match in the Jordan Center, and then being able to kind of turn around and wrestle Maryland, who’s wrestling really well. I mean, they’ve done a really good job there, and they’ve been very competitive.” We cover those matches and much more on this week's Blue-White Illustrated Penn State wrestling show. Host Thomas Frank Carr and reporter Greg Pickel start the conversation with the latest news from the recruiting world. The nation's top Class of 2026 recruit, Bo Bassett, picked Iowa over the Nittany Lions and others on Tuesday night.…

Of course, Penn State fans are smart and want to know the immediate return on the highest-paid coordinator in college football history now. Given the need to play complimentary football on a team that doesn't return an explosive, superstar offense, can the defense get up to speed under Knowles and power a championship run? We're discussing that, plus the latest recruiting intel on today's BWI Live Show. Join us at 10 a.m. on YouTube as we discuss our expectations of the defense, plus answer your questions in the BWI Mailbag. Penn State introduces Jim Knowles this week Penn State will host its introductory press conference for Jim Knowles on Tuesday, which is why our show has been moved to Monday morning. We'll continue our extended discussion on Knowles and what he brings to Penn State on today's show. So far, we've been asking you questions about what you want to know about his defense, but today, we're asking the experts what they're curious to learn. Sean Fitz and Nate Bauer will discuss the questions they're eager to hear answered in Knowles's first impression with the media. The main thrust of the conversation around the hire is that Penn State fans are worried that this change will set the defense back in a very important year for the program. The team retained most of its senior talent, who could have moved on to the NFL Draft this spring. Will they be up to speed in the defensive system to capitalize on this momentum toward a championship run? Fitz's recruiting update With January in the books, it was a truncated recruiting month for the football program, which took it's 2024 season deep into the playoffs. How did things turn out after two recruiting weekends? The team wrapped up Junior Days on Saturday and Fitz has the latest news you need to know about the program and it's push for a top ten class in 2026. Finally, we'll end the show with the BWI Mailbag.
