Bob McCue (my dad) and I connect for an open dialogue on our own personal evolution of how we relate to “GOD.” Religion has been a big part of our family’s story as active Mormons for many years to vacating the church (not a smooth or quick transition) and rebuilding our lives (and ourselves) outside the confines of all we had ever known. It’s been many years since we dove into a long conversation on belief, religion and the stories that frame our memories of what once was. I was most excited to hear how my dad thinks and relates to any version of “God” now. His response has stuck with me. In sum, if something is “unknowable” by its nature, just enjoy when graced with these moments of awe, art and poetry.
