We've not seen a tragedy being played out in real time on social media that's been subjected to such mocking and criticism as the five victims of the Titanic sub - and one stepson in particular.
Musical Twitter seemed to lose its head this week with scrutinising the backgrounds of new rock group, Picture Parlour, for being featured by NME.com.
While some Reddit users had to be told to keep their comments civil in a row over whether a person with joint issues or a pregnant woman deserved a chair more.
But we've also seen some of the best of humanity on social media, from the rush of support to help a vlogging camping Scottish pensioner go from zero views to half a million followers on YouTube and TikTok and an Aussie gardener who clears overgrown gardens for free.
And lots of fun chat about why an Oldham service station and talking about taking out the bins have both gone viral.
