This week we welcomed special guest Joseph O'Sullivan, Master Distiller of All Brands for Hood River Distillers, including Clear Creek and McCarthy's Oregon Single Malt Whiskey. We talk about the most recent release from Clear Creek, McCarthy's 6-year Oloroso-finished (released 5/31/23), and get into details on Garryana Oak, finishing casks, wood management, the recent history of Clear Creek distillery, and the distillers involved in creating this latest release. As usual, we couldn't help ourselves from going off on a few tangents and Joe was happily along for the ride. Also find out what Joe would drink if he could only choose one of his own products and one other product to drink for the rest of his life!

As Joe mentioned, the McCarthy's 6-year Oloroso-finished (as well as the PX-finished) can be found on Seelbachs.com and it may also be found on other sites such as Drizly and ReserveBar. Of course, you can also visit the Hood River Distillers tasting room in Hood River, OR to purchase bottles of all of their available releases including the standard 6-year, PX-finished, Oloroso-finished, and a selection of current Cask Strength and 3-year standard offerings, not to mention all of the other whiskeys, brandies, and more currently available from Clear Creek and Hood River Distillers.
