Pastoral Ministry Together in the Church
Manage episode 446904462 series 3609869
In the closing session of the Westminster Fellowship Autumn Conference 2024, Kevin DeYoung preaches a sermon about the vital pillars of pastoral ministry, emphasising the importance of gospel encouragement, facing opposition, team building, personal affection, and relentless teaching. Kevin reflects on Paul’s ministry as a model for modern pastors, highlighting how encouragement in the gospel is essential for fostering a resilient church community. The conference is reminded that ministry is not a solo endeavour, but rather a collaborative effort requiring strong, affectionate relationships among church leaders and their congregations. Through anecdotes and scriptural insights, Kevin encourages pastors to embrace challenges and remain steadfast in their mission to teach the whole counsel of God. Ultimately, Scripture calls for a balance of authority and care in shepherding, urging ministers to keep sowing the seed of the Word, trusting in God's power to bring growth and transformation.
