So many women wonder, “what’s my calling?” Ephesians 2:10 tells us that we are God’s “handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” We need to look to God for each step and be ready to pivot as He leads. Adrian Bracy understands this firsthand. She walked through a time of testing that became a significant turning point in her walk with God when a new leader came into the company who was uncomfortable having a black woman in a leadership position. God used that pain and turned it into a springboard for Adrian’s career with the NFL working with the Miami Dolphins, St. Louis Rams, and serving as CFO for the Arizona Cardinals. Adrian also attributes her success to the mentoring she received from other women. They guided her not to take things personally, to manage her emotions, and at the same time, to speak up.
After 18 years with the NFL, God led Adrian to pivot again and accept the CEO position for YWCA Metro St. Louis. Adrian credits much of her success to her faith and the community of like-minded women and men she has around her. She has benefited greatly from participating in Bible studies and community with The Rooted Sisters over the last few years. Rooted Sisters provides a safe place where working women can be authentic, love each other, and love the Lord. Today, Adrian provides executive coaching, consulting, and speaking.
