In this episode, John Geldert, owner and operator of GMG Inspections, shares how he started as a union carpenter at 19 to achieve what he calls the second chapter of his life, where he is enjoying time and financial freedom through passive income from real estate investing. John realized early that his body would not be able to sustain the kind of work a carpenter had when he reached 40. However, he took it as a stepping stone and tried to learn as much as possible about the business. He started networking, learned about syndication, applied the BRRRR strategy in the properties he owned, and scaled from duplexes to bigger deals. About John Geldert...
John Geldert has been involved in the construction industry for over 22 years. He started buying single-family homes in 2003 and has now progressed to becoming a full-time Real Estate investor. John has successfully executed over $4.5 million in Real Estate transactions focusing primarily on value add opportunities. John takes pride in his work. Therefore he keeps himself directly involved in overseeing and managing all renovations by always staying in direct contact with all contractors. He also leads the property manager and the leasing of all units.
John’s passion for Real Estate has existed since he was a young boy. His perseverance and dedication to succeed and always providing excellent services to the community have made him a successful business owner. Along with being a Real Estate Investor, he is also the owner and operator of GMG Inspections, a licensed Home Inspection company established in 2013. His background in home remodeling and current position as a licensed home inspector gives him a unique ability to find value add opportunities in properties that others would usually overlook.
