Exercise is important. There is no question about it. But you need to be exercising with a certain intensity and volume to get results, no matter the goal. If you train too easy, you don't get the results you are looking for. If you train too hard, you increase your risk of injury.

So how do you know you're training hard enough and what are some guidelines we can all live by to ensure that our exercise is as effective as it is safe?
