Dr. Randy Overbeck is the author of five mystery and thriller novels, which together have earned ten national awards including the Gold Award from Literary Titan, Best Book Award from Chanticleer Books and Reviews, Thriller of the Year from ReaderFavorite.com and Mystery of the Year from ReaderViews.com. His novels are among the biggest selling titles published by the Wild Rose Press and his Haunted Shores Mysteries reached No.1 and No. 2 bestsellers on Amazon and Barnes & Noble. Fall 2023, Wild Rose Press will release the his newest work, Cruel Lessons, an atmospheric amateur sleuth mystery and the first in a new series set in schools, Lessons in Peril. He is the host of the popular podcast, “Great Stories about Great Storytellers,” which reveals the unusual and sometimes strange backstories of famous authors, poets, and directors.

A tireless promoter of his work, Dr. Overbeck has a growing online presence with over 5000 followers via his newsletter and SM sites. Overbeck and his novels have been featured on dozens of blogs, podcasts and interviews via internet channels, national radio stations such as NPR and TV stations (CBS and FOX affiliates). He is also committed to finding and engaging with readers in person. Since the pandemic, he has conducted more than one hundred book talks to groups and organizations all over the country, selling and signing thousands of books at venues from New Jersey to California and from Michigan to Florida.

A member of the Mystery Writers of America, Dr. Overbeck is an active member of the literary community, contributing to a writers’ critique group, serving as a mentor to emerging writers and participating in writing conferences such as Sleuthfest, Killer Nashville and the Midwest Writers Workshop. When not writing, researching his next novel or sharing his popular programs, he spends his time with his incredible family of wife, three children (and their spouses) and seven wonderful grandchildren.
