Today, like every other day, mother earth kept doing
her wondrous magical spinning thing. As the sun
thrummed a vibrational magic, the light and dark
doing its eternal dance. That's when that big old
mother earth smile happened, realizing this day
was named for her. She said to all,
please, take what you need.
So the remaining bears, the wolves, hawks, butterflies,
and whales, even the scattered buffalo of Yellowstone,
took what they needed, mostly food, sunlight, water,
a gentle breeze, and a glance toward far mountains.
You know it seems that most critters understand
the concept of "enough." Only we humans are
puzzled at the idea. And then only recently,
since we tied our ceaseless wants and misconceptions
to billions and billions of gallons of ancient sunlight.
Still, mother earth smiles and says take all
that you want. And of course, confused, we do.
At least until we and she are exhausted.
