Amy Chua is the John M. Duff, Jr. Professor of Law at Yale Law School where she teaches contracts and international business transactions, among other things. Her areas of expertise include international business transactions, law and development, ethnic conflict, and globalization and the law.

You may also recognize Amy as the author of the international bestselling memoir Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mother, which was translated into 30 languages. Amy’s most recent book, The Golden Gate, is a historical murder thriller set in the Bay Area.

Amy is a graduate of Harvard College and Harvard Law School, where she served as an executive editor of the Harvard Law Review, and was the first Asian-American to serve in that role. Amy started her legal career as a law clerk on the D.C. Circuit, and went on to practice at Cleary Gottlieb. She then joined academia in 1994 and has been a professor at Yale Law School since 2001.

Amy has done numerous media appearances on shows such as Good Morning America andThe Colbert Report, has addressed many government and policymaking institutions around the world, and has been named one ofTime magazine’s 100 most influential people.
