We understand intellectually that everything is fundamentally governed by change. But when life throws its challenges at us, we deeply crave for things to stay the same. Change is so predominant in the structure of reality that being absent-minded of it will inevitably result in dissatisfaction, stress, and suffering. The greatest adversity of the ego is change. The ego arises out of the craving to survive, which means it will attempt to control and keep things the same. The acceptance of change not only opens the door to inner peace, but it welcomes you into deeper insights that ultimately lead to liberation.
