Mary Thormahlen named her crafting business Cows, Kids & Chaos for a reason. A mom of 2 and a farm wife, Mary realized she was struggling with something more serious than postpartum depression after the birth of her daughter. It took trial and error, long drives to see doctors and a panicked visit to the ER to confirm she has bipolar disorder. The diagnosis has given her some clarity on why her brain doesn't always feel right and sometimes she needs to stop and rest. She opens up about suicidal thoughts, her self-awareness and it's toll on her farm family in rural Illinois.
