For today’s episode of OffKey I spoke to Two Spirit singer-songwriter Shawnee Talbot! In high school Shawnee found music to be the medicine she needed to get her through a difficult time, and today uses it to give back and create that same medicine for others. We talked about the themes that inspire her work and her decision to leave behind a record label and management to pursue her career as an independent artist.
