Minnesotans who lost a home for failing to pay property taxes in the past few years could be entitled to compensation. A statewide legal settlement provides more than $100 million for former homeowners who lost out on equity after their property was sold for more than they owed in taxes and fees.

And Minneapolis police say they misidentified a man accused of pistol whipping two residents of a north Minneapolis shelter. The Hennepin County Attorney's Office says investigators informed prosecutors of the error immediately.

This is an MPR News morning update, hosted by Phil Picardi. Music by Gary Meister.
