Originally posted January 25, 2023. Tony Conley welcomes Jaclyn Trop who is an award-winning journalist and automotive reporter, deciphering the world of sheet metal for the masses. She divides her time between Los Angeles, Detroit, New York, and South Florida. She was awarded a Knight-Bagehot fellowship in business and economics reporting from Columbia University, where she also earned a master’s degree in journalism. Her byline has appeared in The New York Times, The New Yorker, Fortune, Vogue, ELLE, Glamour, Bloomberg Businessweek, Newsweek, Fast Company, Forbes, Marie Claire, Men’s Health, Entrepreneur, Rolling Stone, Robb Report, Town & Country, Discover, Overland Journal, Consumer Reports, U.S. News & World Report, TechCrunch and Refinery 29 among others. Jaclyn has reported from five continents and has eaten ice cream in more than 50 countries. She serves as a U.S. juror to the World Car Awards. For her work she gets to drive various vehicles from the McLaren Artura to the Rimac Nevera, it’s been a quarter for electrified supercars – and jets, drones, and spaceships aplenty. Recent travels took me to Madrid to drive the new Land Rover Defender, Texas for the Formula 1 Grand Prix, and Tokyo for a glimpse at Honda’s next-generation transportation strategy. The adventures paired well with some R&R at the St. Regis Bal Harbour and the hot springs of Hakone, Japan.
