After exploring talents in Europe, Mister T. records is returning with a blend of balearic and progressive house EP by Mahkina, formerly know as Alex Aguayo, from Mexico. Mister T. records is extremely proud to unveil Alex Aguayo’s first release with his new alias Mahkina. Active for more than 7 years on the indie and electronic scene as Alex Aguayo, the Mexican DJ and producer is now introducing his new house / progressive project. “Sale Por El Corazon” stands as a clear definition of Mahkina : a tribute to the digital retro sounds and a hot touch of tropical/salsa style rhythms. The four track EP opens with “Attraction Gravitionelle”, a clear dancefloor oriented track, evolving around a mesmerizing acid bass line and french vocals. The emotional breaks and drops add a layer of tension to the hottest tune of the EP. “Good Old Moments” acts as a bridge between the change in Alex Aguayo style that could be seen in his latest release on Fauve Records and the actual Mahkina project. The balearic nostalgia is inherent to the sounds which remains a very sweet tool for dancefloors thanks to its fast rhythm and the warmth of the dub techno influenced stabs. “Sale Por El Corazon” was produced a bit later after the other tunes by Mahkina yet it’s really what is giving the relevancy of the whole EP and then its name. Alex managed to capture the brute energy of the inspiration flow, waking up one day at 6am hearing the bass line in his mind and rushed to his PC to record the whole tune. On this track, Alex touched the raw essence of the first Detroit productions with the same influences coming from latin pianos and percussions. “No Politics” concludes the EP with a beautiful and vibrant balearic house ballad giving space to aerial piano lines.
