John Bailey, a school board candidate for the Ukiah Unified School District, is currently the director of operations at the University of California Research and Extension Center. Born and raised in Ukiah, his resume includes North Coast Opportunities and McEvoy Ranch as well as service on boards such as the River Road Charter School and the Russian River Flood Control District. Our interview touches on the budget, the achievement gap, violence in the schools, and the role of a board member.
