Christina Custodio and I became friends when she shared her story in Episode 39 of Known. I happen to be a white woman and she happens to be a black woman, but we are both women of faith.
This time we are in is a time of hope, but also a time of fear and confusion for many. Christina and I decided to ask each other the hard questions and say the hard things and share it with you so you feel a little more free to do the same.
In episode 11, we talk about how it's ok to be both the same and different. Is it ok to adopt outside of your race? If so, what are the responsibilities that come with that? Is it ok to say that black culture is different from white culture? Am I allowed to like things that are typically "black"?
