Premise

⁃ Preparation for the next life is predicated upon whom we chose to know. The goal of our relationship with the Lord is to graduate from believing, to consistently experiencing. Every phase of our relationship with the lord is wrapped up in our next encounter with him. Every level is determined by the next instruction from Him. Knowing God isn’t an outer experience but an internal work because of intimacy.

Fundamental Truths

1. Know is the root word of knowledge. Gaining an understanding of the Lord through the word of God is the beginning of deeper level of fellowship with the Lord.

“And remember, our Lord’s patience gives people time to be saved. This is what our beloved brother Paul also wrote to you with the wisdom God gave him— speaking of these things in all of his letters. Some of his comments are hard to understand, and those who are ignorant and unstable have twisted his letters to mean something quite different, just as they do with other parts of Scripture. And this will result in their destruction. You already know these things, dear friends. So be on guard; then you will not be carried away by the errors of these wicked people and lose your own secure footing. Rather, you must grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. All glory to him, both now and forever! Amen.”

2. Experiencing the Lord through the worship of one’s life grants the opportunity to continually experience Him in the beauty of His holiness.

“Oh, worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness! Tremble before Him, all the earth.”

“Give unto the Lord the glory due to His name; Worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness.”

3. To know the Lord is to grow in obedience to the Lord.

“Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments. He who says, “I know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him. He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked.”

4. To know God is to know love. Proof of knowing Love is demonstrated not spoken.

“He who does not love does not know God, for God is love.”
