Specialisation.... focussing on one specific area of training or sport.

This is essential if you want to become very good at one particular thing...but the majority of people would benefit from adopting a variety of training modalities and playing many different sports.

Early specialisation for children, other than one or two sports such as gymnastics is probably a terrible idea, as they miss out on the opportunity to develop a wide range of physical attributes and become very good generalists before specialising a little bit later.

The same goes for adults when it comes to training. Prioritisation to a specific goal is important but training should be multi-faceted including aspects of skill work, strength, mobility, conditioning, bodybuilding etc.
