This week's edition of Ghana in Focus highlights two key aspects of the President of Ghana's address to the United Nations Assembly in New York.
The president demanded that reparations be paid by the Western nations who made huge profits from the so called Transatlantic Slave Trade.
He cites that the present day economic and social reality of Afrika is mainly due to the effects of the Transatlantic Slave Trade.
The President also highlighted that the wealth of the West was built on the backs of the blood, sweat, tears and inhumane treatment of Afrikan people including centuries of colonialism.
He then went on to state that the West should return the illicit amount of money that is illegally siphoned from the continent in outflows totalling some US$88 Billion annually.
