De: In Berlin gab es ein Mädchen namens Petra.
En: In Berlin, there was a girl named Petra.
De: Petra liebte es, den Weihnachtsmarkt zu besuchen.
En: Petra loved visiting the Christmas market.
De: Jedes Jahr im Dezember ging sie hin.
En: Every year in December, she would go there.
De: Dieses Jahr war sie besonders aufgeregt.
En: This year, she was particularly excited.
De: Die Lichter am Markt glänzten hell.
En: The lights at the market were shining brightly.
De: Die Stände boten viele Spielzeuge und Süßigkeiten an.
En: The stalls offered many toys and sweets.
De: Petra rieb sich vor Freude die Hände.
En: Petra rubbed her hands with joy.

De: Sie tranken heiße Schokolade und aßen Lebkuchen.
