It was the best of times, it was the worst of times. Truly, this is a tale of two programs for the up and coming New Years 6 Bowl game. Historically and concurrently, Florida State & UGA are two blue blood programs with national brand recognition. While these teams haven't faced off since 2003, back when Mark Richt led UGA to beat the team he previously coached for in the Sugar Bowl , the Florida State Seminoles. They have in fact had many recent battles in the transfer portal and along the recruiting trail. Of course, in 2023 both teams had aspirations of Championship trophies and Playoff appearances: & yet, both programs were left on the outside looking in at the end of the playoff committee's deliberations . UGA took it as an opportunity to collect themselves & put new meaning into this bowl game. In stark contrast, it seems most of the main stay core players that helped FSU do so well this season have pretty much all jumped ship. So needless to say this Bowl game will still be a great way to the end of our* season, albeit in semi weird circumstances in this transitional period where the college football overlords are slowly getting this chaotic mess polished into something digestible for all of us fans..
