Just as cancer used to be a taboo word, dementia is now the same - with so many afraid to talk about it. In the words of Ruth McCabe - who helps to deliver Dementia Friendly Fife together with support services for those diagnosed with dementia - "that has to change".
On Saturday 18th June, an event is taking place to which all who have been diagnosed with dementia together with their families and friends are invited. The aim? To give a voice to those diagnosed, listen and to gather information that will help to shape Fife Council's dementia strategy.
We visited Ruth at the Kennoway Shed to meet locals who are living with dementia, to understand their challenges and to give a voice to one of the most vulnerable groups in our community.
