I then had a moment of realization as fear of judgment was creeping in that I truly used makeup as a crutch and had even forgotten what my own face looked like... This experience showed me the damaging impact of beauty standards, the comparison to others, and even in seemingly small actions like frequent mirror checks. My eyes are constantly being opened on this subject from the Lord but today, I talk about strategies to shift focus away from appearance.
