Jamie began his career at a major finance company after graduating from college, but he always had an entrepreneurial spirit. In 2018, after moving to Chicago, he decided to try flipping houses. Unfortunately, that venture didn’t go as planned. By 2019, Jamie shifted gears, hired a land investment coach, and dove into land investing. Over the next four years, he built an impressive portfolio.

Jamie breaks the land investing process into three key steps: search, spec, and sell.

First, he explains the search phase—how to find the right land. Jamie focuses on identifying areas with strong supply and demand for residential lots. He uses direct mail to reach out to potential sellers and often speaks with homeowners and realtors in the area to conduct market research.

Recently, Jamie has been exploring opportunities in commercial real estate as part of his land investing strategy. While he started with land flipping, he’s now connecting with developers to identify areas for potential CRE projects.

Finally, Jamie discusses the sell phase of the process. He highlights the importance of offering financing, as it enables buyers to afford higher prices, which can benefit both parties.

“One of the things that I love about this space is that there's so much flexibility, um, there's lands always going to be needed.“
