This is Part II of our conversation with guest Rich Schoenberger. If you did not listen to Part I yet, you can find it here (audio) or here (video)
Today we get to explore jury selection, trial, and balance with Richard Schoenberger. Rich is a name partner at Walkup, Melodia, Kelly and Schoenberger, where he has practiced for 37 years. This follows a stint as an Alameda County Deputy District Attorney. Rich’s talent and hard work have resulted in countless record-setting trial verdicts and have led to his being invited to join the most prestigious trial lawyer organizations around, including the International Academy of Trial Lawyers, the American College of Trial Lawyers, the International Society of Barristers, and the American Board of Trial Advocates. His professionalism, civility, and integrity led to his receiving the prestigious Don E. Bailey award in 2022. He gives back to the legal community as a sought-after trial advocacy teacher. He's managed to do all this while taking active steps to prioritize family involvement, including coaching more than 30 of his three (now grown) childrens’ sports teams while they grew up. This is not an easy task for a trial lawyer, and we explore that. We also explore his community involvement since 2013 with Bridge the Gap, a Marin City program designed to prepare at-risk youth for high school and college. I hope you enjoy this session as much as I did recording it!
