Workplace health and wellness refers to efforts made by employers to promote and maintain the physical, mental and emotional well-being of their employees. These efforts can include a variety of programs and initiatives that aim to improve employee health, reduce workplace stress, create a positive work environment, and encourage a work-life balance.

In episode 99, Genny spoke with Jordan Cieciwa, a workplace wellness consultant for the past 12 years, and creator of the Fit City Project. Known as “Fit City Jordan” on Instagram, Jordan is a seasoned and entrepreneurial Kinesiologist and thought leader on holistic wellness. Passionate about wellness, he changes corporate cultures by inspiring a “simply healthy” lifestyle.

According to Jordan, workplaces need simple, easy to implement programs to ensure that all employees understand the basics of healthy living. Put time and money into your employees, they give a return in productivity.

Jordan works with CFL legend Milt Stegall on the Fit City Project and their goal is to make Winnipeg one of the healthiest cities in Canada.

Finally, Jordan shared the importance of building consistency and prioritizing yourself; how just 7 steps can start/keep you on the path to fitness, and that moving your body with purpose every day will keep you fit and healthy.
