The Yankees and Guardians played a 4 hour and 5 minute game last night as the Yankees lost in 12 innings. The Mets also lost, to the Orioles, 9-5. Gio still doesn’t know who the Yankees are. They could win the World Series or get swept in the first round. Boomer said he knows who they are, and they are ‘built for October’. Gio is not so sure as they don’t really have a closer. Jerry is here for his first update of the day but first we talked about BT ‘dappin’ up’ someone from the Cleveland Guardians. Jerry starts with the Yankees losing in a very long 12 inning game. Luis Gil left with lower back tightness. John Sterling was in the booth and Jerry has his call on the Volpe double. Aaron Boone defended Volpe while being interviewed by Jomboy. Boomer liked the way he protected his young player. Brandon Nimmo misplayed a ball in left field and hilarity ensued. Aaron Rodgers said camp has been harder this year than the past 7 or 8 of his career. In the final segment of the hour, Gio watched the new Netflix documentary about the murder of Steve McNair. We talked about what a great player he was and about those Titan teams.
