Born in Townsville, Australia of Bundjulung and Ngāpuhi heritage, Amrita is based in Melbourne and has presented work for the Australian Centre for Contemporary Art, the Art Gallery of New South Wales, as well as Serpentine Galleries and Kaldor Public Art Projects’ do it programme to name a few. Calling from her home in Melbourne, Amrita discussed topics including self-surveillance, embodiment and the indigenous dance practices she has drawn inspiration from.
