Mike Sexton, Senior Policy Advisor for Cyber and AI at Third Way, joins this episode of AI, Government, and the Future by Alan Pentz to explore the intersection of AI, cybersecurity, and policy. They dive into the role of AI in modern warfare and society, how AI technology is far from achieving sentience, and the potential applications of AI in the Middle East.
At 29 years old, Mike earned a spot in the first-ever 40 Under 40 group by the Middle East Policy Council and is a member of Foreign Policy for America and the OODA Network. As the main editor, he contributed to "Cyber War & Cyber Peace" (I.B. Tauris, 2022), a collection of insightful essays on cyber conflicts in the Middle East.
Before joining Third Way, Mike directed the Cyber Program at the Middle East Institute and served as Associate Director of the Qatar-America Institute. He is also the author of "Cyber War & Cyber Peace in the Middle East: Digital Conflict in the Cradle of Civilization."
