Domestic abuse is hard to leave... they even have a name for it "Battered Wife Syndrome", so it's very hard to get out and it can be hard to understand why some struggle to... hence the syndrome has a name.

That said many do leave, but few talk about for obvious reasons; fear, shame, so it largely lives in the shadows and like suicide and mental health, it has its stigma.
Then along comes Lisa Mead who has courageously opened up and shared her story, and made choices to support her son to make intergenerational change through her business which gives 10% of revenue, (not profit) to 4 charitable programs that make an impact for rangitahi to ensure they don't follow their parents path...
