Manage episode 448032490 series 3580836
Maya Ratcliff is an accomplished entrepreneur and business leader who uses her extensive sales, marketing and consulting experience, along with her passion for art, to help others achieve their goals for financial independence.
Ms. Ratcliff is the Founder and CEO of Hawaii Fluid Art, a unique retail establishment that combines an art gallery/jewelry store with art classes dedicated to providing students of all ability levels the opportunity to experience new art techniques. She began her art career helping people with brain injuries delve into their artistic talents as therapy and eventually developed a proprietary method of fluid art using acrylic paints and a special pouring medium while working from her home and resorts around the Big Island of Hawaii. As word spread by students thrilled as seeing what they could create, she opened the first Hawaii Fluid Art studio in 2021 in Waikoloa Village, Hawaii. Since then, the brand has sold more than 100 franchises across the U.S. -- and is now expanding to Canada.
Prior to founding Hawaii Fluid Art, Ms. Ratcliff was a top=producing Home Mortgage Consultant with Wells Fargo Home Mortgage and held a number of other business development, training, sales and marketing positions in the real estate industry. This experience prepared her to help Hawaii Fluid Art franchisees navigate the operational challenges of running a brick-and-mortar retail business.
A passionate volunteer, Ms. Ratcliff served as the Chair of the Realtor Political Action Committee and donated her time and financial support to the Susan G. Komen organization, Pacific Whale Foundation and Wounded Warrior Project.
Mr. Ratcliff attended Humboldt Sate University (now Cal Poly Humboldt) in Arcata, California. She now lives in the Dallas area, frequently travelling to Hawaii Fluid Art studios across the country to support the company's franchisees.
