Megan Smith is the co-founder and editor-in-chief of Spectrum South (spectrumsouth.com), a Texas-based online publication focused on queer southern identity and culture. She is a native Houstonian and has over five years experience working in local LGBTQ media. Megan has a Bachelor of Journalism from The University of Texas at Austin (2013) and is currently pursuing her Master of Arts in Mass Communications at the University of Houston. With Spectrum South, Megan hopes to build an accessible safe space for the southern queer community to be proudly visible, share their lived experiences, and uplift one another’s voices.
