“I think that’s what America needs, more opium conventions” - The Dimes kick the show off with a little lesson about the origins of international drug laws - Sammy breaks down a timeline he found within a 100 page document called “One Hundred Years of Drug Control,” written by The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime - Most of the timeline can be pointed towards western nations interests and history with drugs - The United Nations wrote this study to see how effective international drug control has been over the last 100 years and it ends up being a reminder that most things that start with wholesome ideas are usually crushed

“You don’t wanna be the boat buddy, you don’t wanna be the plane buddy, you just wanna be the guy who can drive it from time to time” - The Dimes quickly discuss some life updates - Daryl shares the experience of his first flying lesson and comes to the conclusion that he wants to become a pilot - Sammy is still cleaning up from Electric Forest and shares a pro tip for washing your gear, as well as some updates on his current mental state post Zoloft

“That’s how easy it is to f*ck with our government” - The Dimes react to The Supreme Court ruling against Affirmative Action - Daryl has some strong opinions about Justice Clarence Thomas and his role in this decision made by the court - “I can guarantee, that a Supreme Court justice is not ‘so f*cking cool’, that people are just giving him Super Bowl rings” - This leads the boys into a conversation about how Justice Thomas benefited from Affirmative Action personally but is now helping to dismantle it - Between The Supreme Court ruling against Affirmative Action and President Biden’s student debt relief bill, it feels like black women will get hit the hardest by all of this - Daryl shares his opinion on the “color blind” system for college admissions and how Justice Thomas might have been led to make his decision - “What’s the mechanism to remove a Supreme Court Justice?”

“I want some oil barrels, for free… and give me a Dr. Pepper” - The Dimes discuss the developing arms race in The Pacific between The U.S. and China - It seems that the U.S is dead set on creating a military blockade around China with the help of it’s allies, but why should we be so involved? - It’s difficult to tell the difference between what is propaganda and truth about China’s threat to our “interests” - With how many allies the U.S. is collecting in The Pacific, it’s hard to see how China will be able to position theirs just as strategically - You can’t blame China’s defense minister for his comments when people like Nancy Pelosi kick the proverbial hornets nest that is Taiwan - The boys take a quick tangent into the difference between communism and socialism before working through all the ways we could end up engaging in a conflict with China

“Rock Lee is the David Goggins of Naruto” - The Dimes discuss what anime means to them - Daryl says that anime is a medium that gave him worlds, conflicts, information, and storylines that American cartoons weren’t giving him - Sammy says that while anime hasn’t changed his world view, it has at times, inspired him and introduced him to new philosophies - Later on Daryl confesses a kink he developed from a very specific scene in Ninja Scroll - What’s compelling about anime is even child friendly cartoons like Naruto have more drama then any American cartoon - Art that distracts people to aggressively from the true nature of the world is detrimental, but why people love anime is that it supplies them with a level a realism that applies to the ups and downs they’ll face in life - “At all levels of development, people want their intelligence respected”
