And her student, Gillian, shares with us how Reiki helped her through her own transition - and how, as practitioners, we can affirm and support our LGBTQIA+ clients and students.

Karen Harrison is a Senior Licensed Reiki Master Teacher with the International Center for Reiki Training (ICRT). She teaches various Reiki levels, including Holy Fire® III Karuna Reiki® Master and is the Co-Director of the ICRT's Licensed Reiki Master Teacher Training Program. Since starting her Reiki studies in 1993, she has trained with several ICRT teachers and Japanese Reiki Masters. Her work has also featured in the Reiki News Magazine.

Besides Reiki, she's a licensed Professional Counselor and Marriage and Family Therapist, with 22 years of spiritual counseling at Unity Church of Overland Park, Kansas.
Gillian Power, a trans woman and registered Reiki Master, brings a wealth of personal and professional experience to our conversation. Hailing from the Midwest, Gillian discovered the transformative power of Reiki during her transition in 2013/2014, an experience she'll share in depth on our podcast. Apart from her spiritual journey, she currently serves as the Chief Technology Officer for Lambda Legal, a non-profit law firm dedicated to advocating for the LGBTQIA+ community and individuals living with HIV. Gillian's insights into her transition, her spiritual awakening, and her commitment to Reiki all weave together to offer a unique perspective on the intersection of Reiki and the LGBTQIA+ experience.
